How to Live Profoundly

New Blog 02

In December 2022, Kamalaya’s Wellness for Life podcast featured a discussion about living profoundly. Karina Stewart, our Chief Wellness Officer and founder of Kamalaya Koh Samui Wellness Sanctuary & Holistic Spa and Ani Dominique, an inspiring Buddhist nun, highlighted some of the most impactful ways to achieve happiness and ultimately – lifelongwellness and profound living.

The conversation covers why we should reflect, heal and set meaningful intentions for the future.

Here are some of our favourite highlights:

A sense of fulfilment
When you are engaged in activities that bring you joy and a sense of fulfilment, you find that you become increasingly happy and at peace. You are being authentic and aligned with your true values. You feel more connected to yourself and the world around you.

Pain is a catalyst for change
Pain can often serve as a catalyst for personal growth and transformation because when we experience pain, it often motivates us to make changes to avoid similar pain in the future. It often involves seeking professional help from books, therapists and other resources, learning new skills, or making life-changing decisions. By facing and overcoming pain, emerge stronger and more resilient.

Cultivating a sense of simplicity
It’s easy to get caught up in the distractions of daily life and lose sight of what is truly important, so by cultivating a sense of simplicity and prioritising what’s truly essential, you can live a life that is more meaningful, fulfilling and authentic. You create room for deeper and more meaningful experiences that bring a sense of peace and satisfaction that is often hard to find in a world that can be overstimulating.

Contentment through lack of judgement
A key to being really happy is to always look for the best in others. When you believe that there is good in everyone and every action, it becomes easier to let go of negativity and judgment. This positive mindset can help you form deeper and more meaningful connections with others, and it can also bring a sense of peace and contentment. By choosing to see the best in others, you can cultivate a sense of gratitude and appreciation that can enrich your life and the lives of those around you.

Forgiveness and healing
When somebody hurts us, it can be extremely painful and difficult to process. The sense of betrayal and hurt can be overwhelming, and it can take time to work through these feelings.

Forgiving the person who caused you pain and taking time to reflect on the situation and understand what led to the hurt, it’s often a deeply personal and emotional journey which requires patience and self-compassion as you navigate your feelings.

By going through this process, you’re able to heal and learn about yourself. You let go and open to new connections and experiences.

Letting go to move forward
To live profoundly we must let go of certain things or attachments because by doing so, we open up the possibility for new experiences and opportunities to connect. Without the burden of holding on to too much, you are free to focus on the present moment and allow things to unfold naturally.
